Project Summary
This project delivered a small-scale solar solution to power attic ventilation fans, improving home energy efficiency and reducing cooling loads. The system operates independently from the main grid and activates during peak heat hours to expel hot air from the attic, helping maintain indoor comfort.
Our Approach
We assessed airflow needs and sun exposure, then installed solar-powered fans connected to dedicated small panels. The system was designed to be low-maintenance and cost-effective, helping the homeowner reduce HVAC strain and monthly energy bills. It operates autonomously and requires no manual intervention.
Challenges
Ensuring consistent power during partly cloudy conditions was a key consideration, so panel positioning and fan selection were critical. Routing wiring through tight attic spaces without disrupting insulation added to the complexity. We overcame these by using flexible conduits and optimizing fan sizing for system reliability.
